Oracle ADF – How to change Web Application context root from default value in JDeveloper

When you create a Web project, JDeveloper sets the default values for your Java EE Application Name and Context root.  It helps to change these to adhere to your organization’s naming standards and create a shorter more meaningful URI.

To change your web application context root:

1) Right click on the project and select “Project Properties”

2) In the “Project Properties” pop-up select “Java EE Application” from the menu on the right

3) Change the “Java EE Web Application Name” and “Java EE Web Context Root” from the default auto-generated values
